October is a great time of the year to visit the small wineries and see first hand how wine is harvested, crushed and bottled.

The Clark County Food and Wine Society and friends spent the afternoon there last Saturday tasting the whites and reds. Then Walt, the wine master took a small group of us into the barrel room for barrel tasting.
Walt is a wonderful man, very passionate about his wines. Here’s a guy that loves to talk about wine, its origins, anything you want to know.
These are the best kind of wineries to visit. Where you get the personal touch. Where the wine master actually spends time with you to teach you his trade and his passion and love of grapes and wine making.
Bethany Vineyards is a must see on your next wine outing (15 minutes north of Vancouver, WA)
These were my favorites this weekend, but they had some very good whites as well.
